Among the many students who applied for the third annual TEDxWesleyanU 2021 Student Speaker Competition, only 3 moved on to Round 1 – the Pitch Competition. On February 13th, 2021, the pitch competition was held where the students gathered to pitch ideas worth spreading.
The judges were blown away by the ideas students shared at the pitch competition – the team was inspired by the creativity, determination, and grit each of the speakers exhibited. Each candidate made a strong performance, which made choosing the top three finalists even more difficult. Here is the list of three candidates (in no particular order) to the FINAL ROUND!

If you were not among the finalists – worry not! All applicants impressed us, and we encourage you to apply again next year.
If you were one of the lucky three, congratulations, but now is where the fun starts! Those moving on to the final round must now prepare their full-length TEDx Talk for an official audition on February 27th. The committee will then choose the 2021 TEDxWesleyanU Student Speaker.
